Viv shut down Q&As

Last updated 14 October 2025

What has happened?

It is with much regret, but Viv is currently in the process of being shut down due to funding falling through.  Whilst all staff and employees have been let go, and no further sensors are currently able to be dispatched, Viv's systems are still operational and will be able to respond to readings. But Viv is not able to respond directly to member's questions.

It is possible that Viv can be revived through a rescue package and the founders of Viv are in discussions with a number of potential buyers. But this is uncertain and no timeline has been set.

What happens if I have placed an order but not received my kit yet?

If your order was placed, but the shipment has not yet been sent out with a tracking number, it has been paused until we can find a partner.  However, if we don’t find a partner, the order will not be sent.

Will the Viv app and service continue?

Currently the Viv app and service are still operational. We are working to find a partner to continue operating the service. If we can’t find this partner, the service will stop. Our goal is to find a partner who can put Viv on a long-term stable financial footing, and continue to offer the service.

Will I be charged again for future months?

No. We have turned off billing for now, until the status of Viv is clear. If we can find and sign a partner to move Viv forward, we will reach out to confirm this, and continue the service.

What if I paid up front for a longer plan, like 3/6/12 months?

Any shipments sent out will arrive, but unshipped sensors will not be sent, pending a new deal with a partner.

I’m expecting a shipment of sensors — will they be sent?

If your shipment has not yet been sent out, with a tracking number provided, it has been paused, until we can find a partner, and resume. But if we don’t find a partner they won’t be sent.

Why did this situation come about?

Whilst Viv worked, we needed further funding to continue. Despite best efforts over the past six months, funding has not been secured. You can read more in the public statement here.
